My house in South West France has 2 little studio-cottages in the enclosed courtyard. Le Pigeonnier and La Bergerie are converted stone outbuildings. They are both very compact, but offer all you need for a peaceful stay. A shared west facing terrace, and the courtyard to the east are just part of the wider garden that leads to my swimming pool by an orchard.
